From a very young age, I have spent hours in the kitchen, working on myriads of recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth. As I grew older and busier, baking became a therapy of sorts, something to get me out of my head and get my creative juices flowing. I love the process of playing around with different ingredients, combining them until they blend together perfectly. One of the biggest joys in my life is bringing people together with food, and that is what Petit is all about.
A few years ago, a bad infection left me weakened, and I could no longer tolerate the sweets I had loved all my life. My habitual cookie and ice-cream binge days were behind me, or so I thought. For the first time in my life, I started thinking about how the ingredients I was using were affecting my body. I decided to start experimenting with alternatives, determined to work on recipes that would be delicious, on top of being intolerance-friendly.
I am very excited to bring you Petit, a place where (almost) anyone - regardless of food allergies or intolerances - will find something that will make their day sweeter!
All our sweets are baked daily in our new bakery in the Hague. You can simply stop by our shops in Amsterdam or the Hague and choose from our selection of individual-size cakes!
We have a variety of dietary restrictions across our team - from the vegan to the lactose-intolerant to the "eats everything"! This ensures that our products pass the taste-test, as everybody must give their stamp of approval. So vegan/gluten-intolerant or not, you can be sure to love our cakes!
